The Fall weather in Utah this year has been nothing short of glorious! The leaves have lasted for so long and the days are still perfectly pleasant. I definitely prefer the warmth over the cold so I’m holding on to every last minute of warmth until winter hits. I’m always so happy when fall hangs on just a bit longer and this year has been the best. The leaves are stunning and the mountains are covered with color. Trent and I try to find time outside together and we always talk about how life’s problems seem to get a little smaller when you get outside and enjoy the world around you. The other night we went on a bike ride out by Farmington bay and almost died by mosquitoes but it was still a blast. πŸ™‚ I’m so lucky to have married a man who loves to adventure and even though I sometimes need to be convinced of an idea, it always ends up being just what I needed. I love my adventurous life and adventures call for Thread Wallets.

I wear a lanyard everyday for work and usually people know when I’m coming down the hall because it jingles as I walk. It holds everything that I need for the school day and I always freak out a little bit when I misplace it. When my old lanyard broke a couple weeks ago, I was so bummed! Luckily, Thread Wallets came in to save the day! Thread Wallets is a company that makes wallets, phone cases and lanyards. They have full length lanyards as well as wrist length lanyards and their wallets are simple and perfect. All the patterns are unique and stylish, not to mention they are local! I love supporting local Utah brands and feel like they always have such great quality products. Thread Wallets is no exception and I’ve loved my new lanyard.

Whether I’m wandering around the classroom or adventuring with T, this lanyard has been a perfect addition. Here’s to enjoying this wonderful fall weather while it lasts!

Weekends

We’ve had weeks of gorgeous spring weather around here and then when Saturday came, Β it was pouring rain. I was just planning on sitting on the couch all day but luckily I have a husband who is always up for something fun!

Trent’s brother in law asked him to take care of a this darling jeep that he was gifting to his wife for Mothers Day and boy did we take care of it. πŸ˜‰ (Don’t worry, we had complete permission to take it up in the mountains and we gave the car a solid wash when we were done, I promise!)

We went up to Saratoga Springs and cruised through the mountains all afternoon. It was a complete blast! They have tons of trails weaving all through the mountains for four wheelers, side by sides and little red jeeps.

I am so grateful for Trent and the wonderful adventure we call life. I have 10 days left of school and although I’m going to miss the little kiddos I teach, I can’t wait to have more time with Trent. This has been an exhausting school year for me and I’m excited to actually have more energy to be able to do things with T. This summer we have some fun things planned and I can’t wait, but until then, here’s to rainy weekend adventures!

Cheers to Fall

Fall this year in Utah has been absolutely gorgeous! It’s been warm, sunny and the leaves are absolutely breathtaking. I’ve always loved Fall for the changes that it represents. The year moves along so fast when the leaves start to change and the weather cools down. It’s time to prepare for the winter, time to make wonderful memories and time for lots and lots of adventures.

The Way of the Wards is officially a year old! How crazy is that? I was looking back through all my old posts and it’s fun to see how much we experienced last year and how much we continue to experience each and every day. Life is a glorious adventure.

A couple weekends ago, Trent and I took off into the mountain on our little dirt bikes. I crashed, Trent rescued me, we rode together and simply enjoyed the beauty that surrounded us. We are so lucky. Of course there are good days and bad days, but the good days always seem to blur out the bad and each new day holds endless possibilities. Cheers to Fall, to adventures and to the beauty that surrounds each and every one of us.

Its been a minute…

Hello there!

Like I said, it’s been a tad busy around here but I’m so glad to be able to find some time to jump on this space. It’s so much fun to interact with everyone and share a little bit about what’s going on in our little life.

This past summer was amazing and like summers usually do, it went by much too fast. We ended our summer with a trip to California with Trent’s family. This is the third year we’ve been back there with his family and it is such a wonderful trip. We rented a cute house on the beach and spent our days playing in the sun, swimming, exploring New Port Beach and spending time with Trent’s darling family. Trent was especially fond of this trip because he was able to go spear fishing. He already told me that our next big trip has to include a spear fishing adventure, he loves it.

This Albion Fit suit was definitely a favorite from this summer

After we got back from California, I jumped right into school. I am officially a 5th grade teacher, can you believe it!? My days are full of 29 kiddos that I absolutely adore and endless learning experiences. I am exhausted all the time but loving my job. Trent is going to school full time up at the University of Utah studying pre-med which also makes hime quite busy. He is taking Anatomy right now which is hard but he loves it! I’m so proud of all he’s doing and for the record he got an A on his last test πŸ˜‰ It’s my job to brag. It’s been hard adjusting to me working full time and Trent taking some harder classes. I’ve had my fair share of meltdowns and Trent’s been amazing during everything. Changes in the rhythm of life are sometimes tricky but I’ve also noticed that they are here to remind us of the things that matter most.

We try to fill up any spare moments we have with each other and luckily we’ve still been able to go on our fair share of adventures since school began. We got to go to the Lady Antebellum concert with a co-worker of mine and it was the best concert I’ve ever been to. Nothing beats warm summer nights and dancing to country music. We were also able to spend a weekend up in Midway, go boating with my family and adventure out on a fun backpacking trip with my sisters and some friends. Trent and I pretty much froze to death in our hammocks but it was totally worth it…

All in all, things are going great around here. Life is a complete adventure with its ups and downs and everything in between. We love each and every one of you and are so grateful for all of your support.

Love,

The Wards

Jacksons in Jackson

We haven’t had a legit family vacation in about 2 years and this vacation was nothing short of amazing! Not only did we have 4 new brother-in-laws to add to the fun but everything about it was perfect! We went up to a darling home in Victor Idaho and explored nature at it’s finest. The first day we got there, I came down with a terrible cold, so the family went and explored Jackson Hole and Trent took excellent care of me. Luckily I was MUCH better the next day!

All of these pictures were taken by my INCREDIBLE brother-in-law, Sam Featherstone. He has some serious skill! Go check out more of his work here!

Day two was spent rafting the Snake River and it was a total blast! Emma’s husband, Sam Featherstone, is amazing at a lot of things but he is also an excellent river guide. None of us died along the way although I’m sure some of us felt like we might.

Day three took us to Grand Teton National Park. We rode our bikes, swam in Jackson Lake and played all day. As we were swimming in the lake, Faith looked down and had a leech on her! We got it off but we were all a little freaked out after that, haha. The scenery up there is absolutely breathtaking and we loved every minute of it!
